Lately, when I go for a walk, I’ve been seeing sunflowers more and more often in various places. I love taking pictures of beautiful plants, so I often stop to capture them in my photo album.

One day, while scrolling through photos on my phone, I noticed that different sunflowers vary in flower shape, center, petals, and even color. I used to think that all sunflowers looked the same: they’re sunny yellow, always turn toward the sun, and after blooming, they produce seeds that can be eaten or used to make sunflower oil.

A few years ago, I was taking pictures of some unusual sunflowers in the school botanical garden—purple ones and ones that looked like fluffy yellow balls. At the time, I was simply enjoying the beauty of the flowers and didn’t think about what varieties they belonged to.

But when I noticed such a variety of petals, center shapes, and shades, I decided to look into the matter more closely. It turned out that there are a huge number of sunflower varieties, and this was a real revelation to me.

«Teddy Bear» Sunflower

I first saw this variety in the school botanical garden. It wasn't until later that I learned its name.

Its orange-yellow petals resemble the soft fur of a teddy bear. The plant is short, thrives in sunlight, and is perfect for growing in pots on balconies, windowsills, or small plots of land.

This sunflower was also photographed in the school garden.

This plant is small in size, making it well-suited for growing indoors—in pots on a balcony or windowsill.

I used to think there was only one kind of sunflower—the one with yellow petals and seeds inside. But it turns out that this sunny flower comes in a huge variety of shapes, sizes, and shades.
